The 3pm Desk Reset: A 5-Minute Routine for Long Screen Days

By 3pm, most desk days feel the same: tight lower back, cold coffee, a desk that slowly turned into a pile. You don't need a new life — you need a five-minute reset.

1. Stand up and open your back (2 min)

Step away from the chair. If you have a back stretcher arch, two gentle minutes on the lowest level is enough — breathe slowly and let the day's sitting unwind. No equipment? A doorway stretch works too. (Comfort, not treatment — ease in gently.)

2. Reset the surface (2 min)

Everything loose goes into one tray. Cables back in place, yesterday's mug to the kitchen. A clear desk pad is a clear starting line for the last stretch of the day.

3. One warm drink, kept warm (1 min)

Brew the afternoon coffee or tea and park it on a warmer so the last hour of work doesn't end with a cold sip. Small thing; changes the mood of the whole afternoon.

That's the whole routine. Five minutes, no apps, no discipline required — just a desk that resets instead of decays.
